Supergroup ORBS premiere "Dreamland II" exploring the formation of fetishes – listen

ORBS is teaming up with AP to announce the exclusive premiere of their newest track, “Dreamland II.” The track will be featured on their upcoming album, Past Life Regression, which will be out July 15.

The experimental rock group ORBS includes members Ashley Ellyllon, Dan Brigg's of Between The Buried and Me and Adam Fisher of Fear Before The March of Flames

“'Dreamland II' is first and foremost named after one of my favorite yet most terrifying episodes of X-Files where two lovers are fused together,” says singer Fisher. “That leads me to the meaning of the song. I never actually walked in on my parents doing the dirty, and if I did, I repressed it. I did however watch the 60 Minutes about Mark Tatum losing his face to a vicious rare type of mold. He had to get a prosthetic face. Google it. I based the song off wondering what it is that gives us fetishes and forms us sexually. It also dives into my battles with sleep paralysis. I do not sleep with a knife next to my bed anymore. Now I have a Louisville slugger.”

Bassist Dan Brigg described the musicality of the song.

“'Dreamland II' is a good example of the way we like to arrange songs; even the more straight forward pieces are made up of sections that are variations on parts earlier in the song,” says Brigg. “It mixes in mine and [Ellyllon's] classical background with the big piano cadenza that leads into the final chorus. Really it's four-and-a-half minutes of [Ellyllon] shredding and me trying to not get in the way too much on guitar.”

Past Life Regression will be released on Brigg's own Hogweed & Fugue Records, through Equal Vision Records.
