Shoegaze icons My Bloody Valentine announce American tour

My Bloody Valentine—the British outfit who defined the term “shoegaze” decades ago—are playing their first shows in America since the 2013 release of their last album, mbv. In addition to the run of seven shows in America, the band will be appearing at various international festivals including the Robert Smith-curated Meltdown festival in London, Denmark's Roskilde and Sonicmania in Tokyo (alongside Nine Inch Nails and St. Vincent). Tickets will be made available via the band's website this Friday April 27th at 10am ET. Tickets for the New York performance at Hammerstein Ballroom will be available at 11am. Brooklyn Vegan will be offering a presale code Thursday April 26 at 10am ET.

MBV's glorious sense of guitar texture has influenced countless bands across various genres. They graced the cover of AP (#45) back in March 1992.
