Glastonbury Festival to ban plastic bottles in 2019

Glastonbury organizers are planning to ban plastic bottles from the next edition of the festival in 2019.

“We're working on banning plastic bottles…which is an enormous project, and it's taking a lot of time to tackle it with all the different people we work with,” organizer Emily Eavis told BBC.

Eavis also explained that they are trying to get rid of all the bottles on the festival's site at the moment.

Consequence Of Sound notes Glastonbury has been working on more environmentally-aware projects for a while. In 2014, the festival brought stainless steel bottles and water stations, and in 2016, stainless steel pint cups were introduced.
