Hear Angel Du$t’s fearless foray into jangle pop on “Racecar”

Angel Du$t are preparing to unleash their hotly anticipated new album, BRAND NEW SOUL, the follow-up to 2021’s YAK: A Collection of Truck Songs, this September. Today, the hardcore crew are back with another single called “Racecar.”

The song demonstrates Angel Du$t’s ambition and sense of adventure that colors the upcoming record. Featuring guest vocals from Loosey singer Fizzy, the band’s foray into jangle pop is met with a punk vigor. It’s undeniably catchy — and a heel-turn from the swaggering ripper “Space Jam,” which they released last month. “People can be afraid to grow, afraid to change,” vocalist Justice Tripp says of the album. “But I want to be an artist. I want to change, and I want to evolve. I love punk and hardcore, and that’s always going to have a place in my heart, but I want to challenge things.”

The accompanying music video is a trip, following a fuzzy orange monster that runs through the streets of NYC. Along the way, he guzzles a fair share of substances (and still manages to get to the gig).
