Tekashi 6ix9ine face tattoo removal is on him for witness protection option

Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine might have to pay for his own face tattoo removal if he wants to be a part of the witness protection program after his recent court testimony.

The rapper, real name Daniel Hernndez, testified in Manhattan Federal Court last week. It was in a trial against two members of the Nine Trey Bloods gang.

The trial was for Anthon “Harv” Ellson and Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack, who are facing federal racketeering and firearms charges. Ellson is also being tried for allegedly kidnapping and beating Tekashi 6ix9ine last year.

The rapper testified against the gang members as he currently faces a minimum of 47 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to racketeering conspiracy and many other charges earlier this year. His cooperation could help him lobby for a shorter sentence. He will likely be sentenced January 2020.

The New York Times is reporting that the rapper could enter the eye witness protection program and could become a brand new person despite his fame. This is because of possible death threats he has against him for giving the court valuable information about the gang.

“I knew I was going to become a target,” Tekashi 6ix9ine said in court. “I knew they were going to try and hurt me.”

Former FBI official Jay Kramer told the NYT that it’s very possible for him to become a normal person after this.

“Despite how connected we are, and the appetite for social media content in this country, there are places where, if this kid gets a haircut and wears normal clothes, no one would know or care who he is,” Kramer said.

The report also says the program will do many things to change his look so he can go incognito. However, to get rid of his signature face tattoos, the rapper would likely have to pay for that himself. Most notably, the gigantic “69” tattoo he has on his face would likely have to go for the program to work successfully.

Tattoo removal can cost hundreds of dollars a session, with recipients often needing multiple sessions for total removal. Therefore, it could cost the rapper a lot of money out of pocket if he chooses to enter the program.
