As reported by Yahoo News, the Public Image Ltd and former Sex Pistols frontman, Johnny Rotten, or John Lydon, has decided to lend his iconic voice to a cartoon character in a new reiteration of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Per the report, the frontman will be playing the villain, Meat Sweats, a “power hungry mutant pig,” in a new series called Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The news of Lydon’s involvement was announced during San Diego Comic-Con, when a trailer for the new series was dropped (you can watch that below!)

We’re not entirely sure how big of a role Lydon will play in the new series, but we’re pretty excited to see someone in the scene venturing off into other creative and animated, endeavours (anyone else remember Mikey Way joining the new Transformers cartoon?!)

You can watch the trailer for Rise Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles below:

The new series is set to debut sometime in September on Channel 5 and Nicktoons.

What do you think of Lydon’s involvement in the show? Are you excited for another new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series? Sound off in the comments below!
