Reported by Deadline, the forthcoming remake is getting a revival thanks to Paramount Pictures. Glow writer Marquita Robinson is set to pen the script and Girls Trip writer Tracy Oliver is producing.

The remake is still in the early stages of development, so details of what fans can expect are still pretty quiet. Due to this, it’s unclear as to whether or not this remake will see fresh faces or if beloved characters from the original will reprise their roles.

To further confirm the news, Oliver shared the link to Deadline’s article, where she shared with her followers that she’s “crazy excited to be producing a *new* take on one of [her] favorite movies of all time.”

Honestly? We’re crazy excited about this “new” take on the movies too!

The original film debuted back in 1995, which took its inspiration from Jane Austen’s Emma, and was written and directed by Amy Heckerling.

Alicia Silverstone starred superficial teen queen Cher Horowitz, who has consequently wormed her way into being one of our favorite teen comedy queens of all time. Starring beside her was Paul Rudd, Brittany Murphy, Jeremy Sisto, Breckin Meyer, Stacey Dash and Dan Hedaya.

As if being one of the best teen comedies of all time wasn’t enough, the show landed a three-season spinoff series that starred Rachel Blanchard. Additionally, Clueless, the Musical, starring Dove Cameron, will make its theatrical debut next month.
