Here’s the video J.K. Rowling said helped relieve coronavirus symptoms

Beloved author J.K. Rowling announced on Twitter that she recovered from coronavirus. According to Variety, the Harry Potter author says she was sick for the last two weeks with coronavirus symptoms including fever, cough, and shortness of breath.

The author believed that she had the virus though she was not tested. Rowling turned to YouTube for tips to relieve respiratory problems. She found a video from a doctor at Queens Hospital in the U.K. The doctor says that patients with coronavirus need to get air into “the bases of [their] lungs.”

The doctor advises patients to take five deep breaths. On the sixth breath, they should cough to help to open the throat and lungs. Then, patients should lay on face down on their stomachs and take deep breaths for ten minutes.

Rowling said she has fully recovered. She shared the video she used and said that the technique “helped a lot.” She also thanked her followers for their support.

“It’s recommended by doctors, costs nothing, has no nasty side effects, but could help you/your loved ones a lot, as it did me.” Rowling urged her followers to “stay safe.”

There is not a vaccine for COVID-19 and many states are still setting up ways to provide testing for the virus. However, the Center for Disease Control has released a number of preventative measures to help you stay safe. Be sure to wash your hands for 20 seconds with soapy water. Do not touch your face with unwashed hands. Wear a face mask while in public. Stay home as much as possible.
