‘WandaVision’ director finally addresses if there’s a secret episode 10

Marvel fans have been truly captivated by WandaVision since it premiered on Disney+ back in January. Now, Matt Shakman, the series’ director, is spilling some new secrets about the MCU show ahead of its finale.

Shakman recently revealed why some WandaVision fans are going to be incredibly disappointed by the show’s ending. As well, Shakman has finally responded to that theory there’s a secret episode 10 of WandaVision.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Marvel fans were left waiting as Marvel Phase 4 projects continued to face delays. Finally, in January, WandaVision made its debut on Disney+. Since then, fans haven’t really been able to stop talking about it.

The series has delivered some major surprises and crossovers over the past few weeks. From that unexpected collaboration with Bikini Kill‘s Kathleen Hanna to fans figuring out My Chemical Romance are actually part of the MCU, the subtle details in WandaVision haven’t gone unnoticed.

Unfortunately, the end of WandaVision is near. The Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany-led series supposedly has only one episode left and, from the looks of it, a full-on battle between Wanda and Agatha Harkness is due. Although fans are expecting a final fight to happen, director Matt Shakman says some viewers will be disappointed by the ending of WandaVision.

During a recent interview with EW, Shakman teased the WandaVision finale while revealing the show’s conclusion will probably earn mixed reactions. Why? Well, some of those fan theories aren’t going to be addressed.

“I hope that they feel like the journey was satisfying for them,” he says. “I know there are so many theories out there; there will be a lot of people who will no doubt be disappointed by one theory or another. But we’re always telling this story about Wanda dealing with grief and learning how to accept that loss, and hopefully people will find that the finale is surprising but also satisfying, and that it feels inevitable because it’s the same story they’ve been watching the whole time.”

Along with this, Shakman also responded to that theory there’s a secret episode 10 of WandaVision. Last month, Disney+’s U.K. Twitter account posted that there are actually two WandaVision episodes left.

The director recently told Screen Rant that he hadn’t actually heard about this theory before. So, if there is a secret episode, he certainly didn’t direct it. However, he does note that a “Making Of” episode was filmed so it’s possible the Disney+ Twitter account is referring to that.

“Gosh, I wonder who would’ve directed it,” he says. “But we’ll see. I know there was a Making Of episode the following week, so there’s some continuing WandaVision in the Disney+ world the following week. But we’re wrapping up our show.”

Not only has WandaVision ruled Disney+, but the MCU series is now taking over the music charts. This week, “Agatha All Along” officially entered the Billboard charts. The song, which appears in episode 7, debuted at No. 36 on the Digital Songs Sales Chart dated Mar. 6.

According to MCR Data, “Agatha All Along” sold 3,000 downloads in the tracking week ending on Feb. 26. Since its debut on Feb. 23, the song has also accumulated over 1.6 million streams in the United States.
