Personal data of 26M Ticketfly customers exposed due to hack

Following a recent “cyber incident” that forced ticketing vendor Ticketfly to shut down, about 26 million email addresses linked to the site were exposed to online hackers.

The website claimed “some customer information has been compromised as part of the incident.” Ticketfly added that the information included names, addresses, emails and phone numbers.

The alleged hacker behind the attack has leaked much of that information onto a public server. According to web security expert Troy Hunt, 26,151,608 Ticketfly email addresses were found on the server, alongside the other leaked information, according to a report by Consequence of Sound.

As of now, no credit card information or passwords of customers have been compromised, but the hacker has threatened to upload more files if their ransom demands are not fulfilled.

Ticketfly was initially targeted by a hacker May 31, and the website went offline to attempt to regain the site back. The website still is currently offline, and the homepage encourages users to check their “favorite venue/promoters’ websites, social media channels or box offices” for information about upcoming shows.
