'Terminator Genisys' director thinks trailers gave too much away

Speaking with Uproxx, Terminator: Genisys director Alan Taylor mentions that he believes the marketing for the film went too far. “I certainly directed those scenes with the intention that no one would know. One of my favorite moments—and I think Jason Clarke did a great job with it—is when he walks into the hospital in 2017 and everything from there until the turn, you’re supposed to think, 'Oh man, this is great.'”

Continuing, Taylor says, “I think they felt they had to do something game-changing in how the film was being perceived.” It makes sense that the studios wanted to show the audience that the film would have things never seen before, though in the end it didn't really help considering the poor reviews the film has been getting.

What do you think? Are films revealing too much in trailers?
