'Pinocchio,' starring Robert Downey Jr., will be written by Paul Thomas Anderson

Paul Thomas Anderson is a powerhouse of an artist, garnering six Oscar nominations and creating a massive roster of wonderful films. Films in the director's repertoire include The Master, Boogie Nights, Inherit Vice, There Will Be Blood and more.

According to Variety, Anderson has been attached to be the screenwriter the upcoming live action film Pinocchio, starring Robert Downey Jr. as Geppetto. They also report that Anderson may go on to direct the film.
