Jenna Ortega wants Deftones and Nine Inch Nails on the next Scream soundtrack

Demi Lovato may have slayed with their contribution “Still Alive” on the new Scream VI soundtrack, but Jenna Ortega has a couple of great ideas for what would make for a great needle drop in a Scream movie.

The Scream VI cast recently sat down for an interview with MTV, in which they gave their soundtrack recommendations and what they thought would be great playing against a scene of a classic Ghostface chase.

Turns out Ortega, who plays new scream queen Tara Carpenter and also stars in Netflix’s Wednesday, is quite the music head. Not only did she make her castmates like Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding playlists (featuring Hope Sandoval, Lenny Kravitz, Erykah Badu, and lots of Steve Lacy), she had some pretty great, pretty heavy recs for a Scream soundtrack. Ortega, for one, thinks “Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)” by Deftones should make it on the next soundtrack, and says that her character is best represented by “The Way Out is Through” by Nine Inch Nails, and a bit of “She’s Leaving Home” by the Beatles, since her character relocates to New York City in the latest film in the franchise.

As for the rest of the cast, Mason Gooding thinks it’d be fun to outrun Ghostface to the Cowboy Bepop theme, “Tank!” by Yoko Kanno and Seatbelts, and Melissa Barrera could see a Beethoven addition being extra dramatic.
