‘High Fidelity’ heads back to the record store in first Hulu reboot teaser

High Fidelity is receiving a new reboot by Hulu since the initial film based on the book of the same name was released almost twenty years ago.

According to Rolling Stone, the series will be a 10-episode adaptation of 1995 novel High Fidelity by Nick Hornsby.

The book was first made into a feature film that was released in 2000 and starred John Cusack.

In the film, Cusack plays Rob Gordon, the owner of a failing record store in Chicago who has a top-five list for every genre of music.

It could be said that he’s a bit cynical towards his customers as he openly makes fun of their music tastes.

Two decades later, Hulu is releasing a new series based on the aforementioned book, but this time it is being told by a woman.

The show will retell the story of Rob (Zoe Kravitz) as she remembers her top five worst heartbreaks from her past and navigates love in the present, surrounded by pop-culture and music.

The show premieres on the streaming service Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, 2020.

The series will also star Da’Vine Joy Randolph , David H. Holmes (Mindhunter), Jake (The Office), and Kingsley Ben-Adir (The OA).

So far, the new show was received positively online with Twitter users expressing their excitement to see Kravitz (Divergent, X-Men) take on the lead role.
