Bad Wolves singer brings mom onstage for Cranberries cover

Bad Wolves welcomed a special guest onstage this weekend during a performance of their hit Cranberries cover, “Zombie.” Below, watch vocalist Tommy Vext bring his mom aboard for the band’s tribute to late Cranberries singer Dolores O’Riordan.

It all happened at the Holmdel, New Jersey, stop of the metal supergroup’s summer tour with Five Finger Death Punch and Breaking Benjamin on Saturday (Aug. 25). Afterward, Vext fondly shared word of the matriarchal guest spot on Instagram.

“Tonight will forever go down as one of the greatest moments I’ve ever had on stage,” the musician said. “My mother came out to sing ‘Zombie’ with me in front of all of our friends and family at the PNC Bank Arts Center in New Jersey.”

After all, “Momma Vext was the lead vocalist in the church choir every Christmas, so you may say it runs in the family,” Vext added. Original “Zombie” singer O’Riordan, a mother herself, unexpectedly died this year at the age of 46.

And Bad Wolves have donated $250,000 to the Cranberries singer’s family in light of the cover’s success — a song which was meant to have O’Riordan’s vocals added before her death. See the Wolves’ remaining summer dates after the vid:
