Since bursting onto the charts in style in 2006 with their debut album, Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not, Arctic Monkeys have established themselves as a household name and stand in the pantheon of the greatest British alt-rock bands of the century. 

Although it’s been over two decades since the British rock quartet started out, they are widely recognized and cherished by young people now more than ever. From 42 awards won, not forgetting the 102 nominations, to selling out stadiums across their home country as well as a North American arena tour — it would be an absolute understatement to say the boys who once aspired to become the next Oasis or Strokes are making it.

Arctic Monkeys’ discography consists of a stack of seven records. Yet, from day one, they haven’t been one for following the crowds. Their latest album, The Car, indicates they’re far from finished evolving — whether that’s a positive or not, we’ll let you make your minds up.
