WHAT'S WHAT? After his father is killed in the Falklands War, 12-year-old Shaun (Turgoose) falls in with a gang of skinheads led by a nationalist ex-con named Combo (Graham, who played Jason Statham's sidekick Tommy in Snatch). Pints, facial tattoos and severe beatdowns ensue.
SO WHAT? Boots 'n' braces here we come: Set in 1983 and based on writer/director Shane Meadows' own life, This Is England won the top prize at last year's British Independent Film awards and boasts a stellar period soundtrack featuring Toots & The Maytals, the Specials and UK Subs. J. Bennet
