Witches With Dicks - ManualPosted by Scott Heisel on 26-Jul-07 @ 11:46 AM
[3/5] It would be generous to say Witches With Dicks play gruff pop-punk along the lines of Dillinger Four-Witches With Dicks' lines are straight stacked with theirs. Manual blasts through 10 fun lo-fi punk-rock snapshots in a shade under 20 minutes. The minute-long "How To Cook 40 Humans" simply tears it up; "Your Job Does Not Rock Balls" and "Fuck All Lindseys" cues up a little pre-Dear You Jawbreaker vibe; and "Yes Mark It Is Tentative" and "Die Painfully" (hey, synth!) is great hype tuneage to any Latterman set. Even the intro of Kid Dynamite's "Fuckuturn" makes an appearance, jokingly cloned in "It's Not Me It's You." Kiss Of Death Records tends to specialize in this type of punchy beard rock; while Witches With Dicks don't entirely deviate from that sect, they've got a little something extra under the dress.
