Ronnie Day - The Album Rachel Lux on 4/10/07 @ 5:09 PM
[2/5] Let's get one thing out of the way: Ronnie Day has a nice voice. He's pleasant to listen to-as background music. Once you pay attention to the lyrics, the album becomes more difficult to digest. In an age where people share so much personal information on the internet, it's no surprise that a musician who allowed his MySpace fans to decide on his name (Day is not his birth name) isn't afraid to bare his soul. It's obvious that
The Album is his breakup record, but the concept of "show, don't tell" is completely lost on him. He literally sings "I want the world to know that Jamie broke my heart" on "Lived Learned Loved & Lost." Using a little more creative metaphors, this album has potential. Unfortunately, Day comes off as that weepy friend who just can't let his failed relationship go and has pissed off all his friends by obsessing over it.
