Punks trade skanking for twanging.
Drag The River - It's Crazy.Posted by Tim Karan on 04-Oct-06 @ 04:00 PM
[4/5] With all the recent appearances of faux-folk acts, it's nice to know that Drag The River, a bunch of punks that popped the country-tinged cork a solid decade ago, are still offering a serious, meaningful antidote to all those less sincere operators. With a membership lineage featuring members of ALL, Armchair Martian, the Nobodys and Hot Rod Circuit, DTR's fourth studio full-length finds a tidy home between a favorite bottle and a copy of Uncle Tupelo's Anodyne. Though it's hard to top Hobo's Demos, the band's debut, It's Crazy. sports some of the act's best songwriting to date ("Strange," "Dirty Lips"). Sincerity goes a long way on It's Crazy.; those seeking to trade whine for some twang should take note. (SUBURBAN HOME) Waleed Rashidi
