If this isn’t a joke, we don’t get it
San Serac - ProfessionalPosted by Laila Hanson on 22-May-08 @ 04:15 PM
[2/5]We'd like to have coffee with Nat Rabb (aka San Serac), or at least an RC Cola. See, we can't figure out if his boisterous, way over-the-top dance album Professional is for real, or if it's an '80s-cribbing joke only he and his laptop jockey buddies get. Let's say Professional is totally serious: If so, it's dramatic, flamboyant and all over the place. Is there such a genre as cabaret freestyle house? Seriously, tracks like "Fairlight" and "The Black Monolith" had us laughing. Now, that's not necessarily a bad thing if this is all tongue in cheek. Looking a lot like Eric Roberts in Star 80 and sounding like David Bowie doing his best Grandmaster Flash, San Serac could make for a great night of Patron-soaked dancing. But for our money, all bets are off for anything else. (NRMLS WLCM ) Casey Lynch Official Website: http://www.nrmlswlcmrcrds.com
