As I Lay Dying post update from the studio
Alternative Press - Leah Preble on 11/12/09 @ 3:05 PM - altpress.com
"There are only drums for eight songs tracked so far. One of them we're undecided about, but maybe it'll feel different when the vocals are done. Either way, we need write more than eight songs (since they aren't as long as the eight songs on 'Master of Puppets'). Therefore we're working on writing MORE new songs as soon as we finish recording what's been started. The only break in working on the new album will be our short trip to Mexico and Sri Lanka to play two of the best shows of our career. All of us can't stress enough how grateful we are to be writing music that we love while still receiving a paycheck. This can only be credited to OUR LOYAL FANS! Sometimes bands need to rush out a crappy record so they can start touring again to pay their bills. In our case, we plan to make a record worth listening to (hopefully), and start touring again when we're done. Thanks for your patience and understanding. We care and we're working."
New Blink-182 song to be on Travis Barker's solo album
Alternative Press - Tim Karan on 11/12/09 @ 2:33 PM - altpress.com
The drummer hopes to complete his solo album by February and then tour to support it. The album will be a departure from Blink-182, featuring more of a hip-hop influence. "There's some stuff on my record that's not going to have a bunch of guitars, that are just straight-up hip hop records," said Barker. "Everything's going be real different. It's going to be really well-rounded."
Barker also revealed that Blink won't begin working on their new album until 2010. "We're kind of taking the rest of the year off, for everyone to finish up other stuff they have going on," Barker said. "We want to re-group next year and start getting together once a week or once every two weeks to start doing the beginning work on our record."
