Craig Owens responds to being removed from Chiodos

There's still been no word on what the next step for Owens or Chiodos will be. When asked for an official statement, a representative for Equal Vision Records said they had no comment at this time.

Chiodos needs to man up and explain why they removed Craig if they have any hope of retaining the majority of their fans. Until then, I've lost all respect for them.

Actually, I don't hate Craig at all. I just talked to him at a show two weeks ago and he was talking about how talented his band was and how excited he was about the new record. He said he went on solo tours so he wouldn't dominate the writing process. That sounded legit. I don't think he knew this was coming. Sure, there's a lot of rumors behind his behavior (womanizing, drug abusing, ego, etc), but where's all the substance behind it? Craig's not perfect and never tried to be, so stop employing a double standard on him-- everyone loves lyrics about imperfection, but the instant a musician does something "out of line" he's a dick. I just want honesty from Chiodos.
Craig loves Chiodos, even with all his other projects, he still talked about how much he loved them, and he played Chiodos songs on his solo tour. It's not like he's pulling a Sonny Moore and thinking he's too big for the band. He's reacting to the fact he is so big and trying to share the love!!
i'm really upset about craig leaving, but he still has an amazing career in front of him. and i agree that the rest of chiodos need to let us know what happened, because this is a big deal for the fans. chiodos is never gonna be chiodos without craigery.

this is really sad, I want to hear the full story rather than all the rumors. This is definately not the end of Craig's career, but the remaining memebers of chiodos probably won't be able to keep their fan base.
This is truly a tradgedy. Craig is so unbelieveably talented. I don't care about the rumors swirling around him, that shouldn't matter anyway. He's an amazing musician and Chiodos made an awful mistake of letting him go. I too have lost all respect for other members of the band and I just really feel bad for Craig. Chiodos was his pride and joy, and at Warped Tour he even said that the new record was gonna kick ass and that he had never been so proud of his bandmates. Just really dissapointing.

I already forgot about what happened yesterday.. Yes, he's human, like us.. Which also means, yes, we all go through things just like him.. He's no different than your neighbor or your best friend.. Everyone cant possibly be this upset over a guy getting kicked out of a band.. Believe me, Chiodos rocks, and I enjoy music as much as anyone here, but really? Lets just say it sucks and leave it at that.. He'll be okay, and the rest of the band. I promise.

The majority of bands that this site follows don't have long lifetimes or are forever morphing. The bands will put together between 2 and 4 albums, break-up, and then the members go off and do other projects. This is no different. Chiodos probably only had one more album in them before they would have called it quits anyway.

I'm gonna get shit for this but i dont care. I've been a fan since Chiodos bros & Craigs talented, no doubt. He's a phenomenal writer, has a beautiful voice, and genuinely a nice guy. I can argue both sides. It sucks hes out but what about the rest of them? Theyre talented too. This isn't an end. It's a new beginning. If you're really losing sleep over this, listen to his other bands. I'd love to know why this happened and all but that's obviously personal. You're supposed to like an artist for what they do. Not their personal life. Also, it's terrible how people react to Craig leaving and they didn't even care about Derrick leaving. Best of luck to craig & chiodos. Cant wait to hear both.
