FERRET SIGN HELLMOUTH

Ferret have boosted their roster by one with the signing of Michigan's Hellmouth, who feature former Suicide Machines vocalist Jay Navarro. The crusty thrash four-piece cites Celtic Frost, Black Flag, Venom, Black Sabbath, and Disfear amongst their influences, and are currently working on a new full-length for release later this year.

In the meantime, you can listen to some tracks off the band's sold-out demo on their MySpace page.

AP EXCLUSIVE: PHOTOS OF ANTHONY GREEN & COVE REBER DUET

UPDATE: Green comments on his experience singing with Reber:"I couldn't hear anything onstage at all, except for the crowd," Green tells AP. "It felt like [it was happening] in slow motion. It was definitely the coolest moment of the tour."

In what should finally, once and for all, put to rest any rumors of animosity between former Saosin frontman Anthony Green, and current Saosin frontman Cove Reber, look no further than the AP Exclusive photos from Reber's guest appearance during Green's solo tour stop at Chain Reaction in Anaheim, California, on Friday.

Photographer Mike McDougal caught the action, while the two sang "Dear Child (I've Been Trying To Reach You)" from his debut solo album, Avalon, which dropped Aug. 5 on Photo Finish.

RHYMESAYERS SIGNS JAKE ONE

Rhymesayers has signed super producer Jake One. One, or Jacob Dutton, has worked with the likes of 50 Cent, De La Soul, MF Doom and Nas.

His "solo" debut will come in the form of White Van Music, due out in the fall and featuring appearances from a plethora of guests, including but not limited to Brother Ali, Busta Rhymes, MF Doom, Prodigy, Slug (of Atmosphere) and Young Buck.

NEW SONG FROM THE AGENT POSTED

Long Island's the Agent have a new song streaming at Run For Cover Records' MySpace page.

The track is titled "Currents" and is off their forthcoming 7", Awake In Their World. You can also check out the cover art in the MySpace player.

Awake In Their World is due out on the label later this year, following up both 2006's I Wouldn't Trade That For Anything EP (Iron Pier) and their self-released demo.

Chicago indie act A Lull, who feature former members of the Evaluation and the Skies We Built / Ateriavia, have offered their new two-song single, Skinny Fingers / Little Echoes, for free download. You can get that in a .zip folder here.

The band is planning to press it as a 7" some time soon.
