Beastie Boys' Adam Yauch diagnosed with cancerous tumor
Alternative Press - Scott Heisel on 7/20/09 @ 12:34 PM - altpress.com
Adam "MCA" Yauch, one-third of legendary rap group the Beastie Boys, has announced that he was diagnosed last week with having a cancerous tumor in his left parotid (salivary) gland. According to his publicist, Laura Eldeiry, the tumor was caught early, which makes it "very treatable." The cancer will reportedly not affect his vocal cords; however, the band have canceled all upcoming concert appearances, including their upcoming headlining spot at this summer's Lollapalooza festival, and have pushed back the release of their new album, Hot Sauce Committee Part 1, from Sept. 15 to a new date TBD.
