Jack's Mannequin to unveil "Swim" video next week

Jack's Mannequin have announced that they will unveil their anticipated video for "Swim" next Tuesday, July 21st on their Myspace page. The video will feature a compilation of fan-created artwork said to convey the artists' personal meanings behind the word "swim".

"Swim" is the second track lifted off of the band's 2008 release, The Glass Passenger. They are currently on tour in support of the album with The Fray.

Paramore, Boys Like Girls, Muse to perform at MTV VMAs

Details about the 2009 Video Music Awards, put on by MTV, have begun to surface. The event, taking place Sunday, Sept. 13 and being hosted by Russell Brand, will feature performances from Paramore, Boys Like Girls and Muse, among others. Rather uncoincidentally, each of those three bands have new albums dropping in September: Paramore's brand new eyes comes out Sept. 29; BLG's new one, Love Drunk, hits stores Sept. 8; and Muse's The Resistance will drop Sept. 15.

AP Street Team looking for new members in select cities

The AP Street Team is obviously the coolest place to be. As a member, you get into AP-sponsored tours and festivals like the AP Tour, the Bamboozle, Warped Tour and more, as well as tons of cool, free swag--and best of all, you get to help spread the gospel of good music to the unwashed masses. Sound good? Well, we're currently accepting applications for new street team members in the following cities:

Cleveland
Las Vegas
St. Louis

To apply, send an email about yourself, what kind of music you're into and why you want to join the AP Street Team to streetteam@altpress.com. You must be at least 16 years old and have access to a car. If we like what we read, we'll be in touch.

Don't fret if you don't see your city listed: We'll periodically open up membership for various cities, so keep your eyes peeled!

The Lawrence Arms announce dates for only tour of 2009

Fat Wreck Chords trio the Lawrence Arms have announced dates for their only tour of the year. The seven-stop road trip across California, save one show in Arizona, will begin in November and feature Teenage Bottlerocket and Cobra Skulls in the supporting slots. Check out the dates below:
