Planes Mistaken For Stars cancel farewell tour

Heather Shall on 12/4/07 @ 5:33 PM

If you wanted to say good-bye to Planes Mistaken For Stars and haven't done so yet, you're going to have to mail them a postcard. The band announced today that they have cancelled all January dates of their farewell tour due to a family emergency:
"We are sorry to say but we have some bad news. Due to a family emergency within the PMFS family, we have to cancel the whole January tour and Europe. We tried to figure out a way around this but it has become more serious than expected and as we all know family comes first. Everything will be ok but now this is the time we are there for the person(s) in need.

With this said, we will be playing only ONE more show (our Final show) in February. This will be in Denver and we will keep you updated on the venue and date."

We Ride To Fight! The First Four Years, a 24-track compilation CD including Planes Mistaken For Stars, Knife In The Marathon, Spearheading The Sin Movement, Fucking Fight, four Black Flag covers and more is, out today on No Idea Records. Planes originally announced their break-up back in July.

Regina Spektor postpones already rescheduled dates

Heather Shall on 12/4/07 @ 4:44 PM

After rescheduling several tour dates last month following a collapse off-stage during a sound check, anti-folk singer/songwriter Regina Spektor has been forced to postpone the dates once more. After spending the night in the hospital on November 14th, Spektor was diagnosed as suffering from a bout of vertigo. The condition is apparently quite severe and, according to her doctors, could last several weeks before the dizzying episodes end. The affected dates are Atlanta (12/5), Nashville (12/6), Norfolk (12/8) and Richmond (12/10) -- this time, however, new dates have not yet been scheduled.

Regina Spektor had been on the road since September in support of her second major label release, Begin To Hope, which came out on Sire in 2006.
