Nodes Of Ranvier are officially done

Alternative Press - Ben Sailer on 12/15/07 @ 4:37 PM - altpress.com

Adding to an ever-growing list of bands calling it quits in 2007, long-running Christian metalcore outfit Nodes Of Ranvier have confirmed speculation that they will be breaking up. After putting out three albums for Facedown Records, the band put out their last release, Defined By Struggle, this past summer on Victory. The band has scheduled their final show on Dec. 31 at the Ramkota Exhibit Hall in their hometown of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Rocket From The Crypt's Reis unveils new band in 2008

Alternative Press - Scott Heisel on 12/14/07 @ 5:57 PM - altpress.com

John Reis, mouthpiece for San Diego's swelegant rock maniacs Rocket From The Crypt, Drive Like Jehu, Pitchfork (not the website, neo-punker), Back Off Cupids and Hot Snakes, will have his new band, Speedo, unleashed into the marketplace next year via a joint venture between Reis' label, Swami and Vagrant. Expect it March 25. Reis' partners in volume include Tommy Kitsos of Montreal-based racket-makers CPC Gangbangs and former burning amphibians Gar Wood and Jason Kourkounis.

While we have your attention, RIP, a CD/DVD of Rocket's last gig on Halloween 2005, comes out on Vagrant Febuary 26. If anybody has an MP3 of Rocket doing the MC5's "Gold," could you send it over to me at editorial@altpress.com? I can't find my Injex copy of All Systems Go!. Thanks, rockers; you're the best!
