Eternal Lord lose drummer, cancel tour

Alternative Press - Ben Sailer on 6/6/08 @ 5:13 PM - altpress.com

British metalcore upstarts Eternal Lord have parted ways with drummer Stu Mckay, forcing the band to cancel their upcoming U.S. tour dates on the second leg of the Sun Your Bunz tour with The Acacia Strain, Since The Flood, and All Shall Perish. The band issued the following message via their MySpace blog:

Hey everyone,

A couple days ago Stu decided to quit Eternal Lord leaving us in the lurch for all the upcoming shows and U.S Tour. We are sorry but we are gonna have to cancel alot of shows and the US tour we have coming up as a result of this. We know this is letting alot of people that have worked hard for EL and our supporting fans down but this situation is out of our control. We tried to find someone to fill in but failed.

We have selected a couple drummers to audition with us as over this coming weekend. We will keep you all posted with our progress and decisions on our 5th member !

Don't let this dishearten anyone ! We will be hitting up a town near you soon and we'll be spending the time we have at home writing for a new CD for you guys and dolls to rock out to.

Stu had personal reasons for quitting the band and no real explanation.
He didnt want to make a statement himself but on behalf of the rest of us we are sorry to anyone we've let down.

Nick and the guys -
Eternal Lord

The rest of the tour will be continuing on; you can find those dates here. The band recently released Blessed Be This Nightmare on Ferret.

Victory announces release of Hawthorne Heights album

Alternative Press - Brian Shultz on 6/6/08 @ 11:48 AM - altpress.com

After a tumultuous few years that included the death of 26-year-old guitarist Casey Calvert this past November and ongoing legal rifts between Hawthorne Heights and their on-and-off label, Victory Records, the latter has announced that the band will now release their third full-length, Fragile Future, on the label August 5.

The announcement comes as the band has dropped their lawsuit against the label in its entirety. A large reason for the band's original lawsuit were alleged credibility-damaging promotion tactics on the label's part. Victory had counter-sued the band a month later, followed by the band's own manager later on.

Victory head Tony Brummel essentially compared the new agreement to Senator Barack Obama achieving the Democratic party nomination for the upcoming presidential election.

The band last released If Only You Were Lonely in 2006.
