Fucked Up complete recording of new album

Alternative Press - Brian Shultz on 6/11/08 @ 12:02 AM - altpress.com

Fucked Up has completed the recording of their second full-length (and roughly 80,000,000,000th release), The Chemistry Of Common Life.

It seems as though Matador Records will be releasing the album in October, meaning the band is no longer with Jade Tree Records, who released 2006's Hidden World.

The band lets fans know that ChemCon is the ideal shorthand for the title. They have also posted a link to what they claim is a .zip folder of the record, but reports indicate this folder is actually In Ghost Colors, the new album from Australian electro-indie-dance-pop wonders Cut Copy.

Stones Throw announces release of rumored project

Alternative Press - Mike Scales on 6/10/08 @ 5:11 PM - altpress.com

As internet rumors spread of a Ghostface Killah and MF Doom collaboration, Stones Throw Records gives us the official word on the famed project:

"In late 2005 Ghostface Killah and MF Doom were both recording over tracks from J Dilla's instrumental opus, Donuts, which saw release the following February. Some of these were released on Ghostface's Fishscale in 2006, while others, including a Dilla-Doom project, were postponed indefinitely after J Dilla's passing. Two of these tracks, "Sniperlite" and "Murder Goons," will be released digitally, exclusively through Stones Throw's webstore, due to launch in late June."
