LAGWAGON PREMEIRE "MEMOIRS AND LANDMINES"

Posted by Ben Sailer on 09-Aug-08 @ 06:46 PM

Long-running pop-punks Lagwagon have a new song out online titled "Memoirs And Landmines." You can give it a listen right here, or on their nostalgically titled forthcoming album I Think My Older Brother Used To Listen To Lagwagon, due out Aug. 19 on Fat Wreck.

ALIVE IN WILD PAINT ROBBED ON THE ROAD

Posted by Ben Sailer on 09-Aug-08 @ 06:38 PM

Adding another victim to the seemingly growing list of bands getting robbed on tour, Alive In Wild Paint have had their trailer stolen. According to their blog:

Unless someone is playing a practical joke on us, our trailer has been stolen. Inside the trailer was an original UK Vox AC30 6TB 2x12 combo, a roadcase for that combo, a ridiculously large drum roadcase, an iPod, clothing, merchandise, many many many CD's, etc. All of this is gone along with the trailer.

If you see a white dual axle 6x12 Pace American trailer without fenders and spray paint on one side that is somewhat removed ... pull the driver out of the vehicle, knock him out, lock him in one of the roadcases (preferably the smaller one), lock up the trailer, and leave him. Then call the police and let them know where they can find him.

If you are reading this and steal things to make a living, PLEASE get a job like the rest of us. I'm sure you are a big boy and can handle it.

Matt

The Phoenix, Arizona rock quartet was out in support of their Equal Vision debut, Ceilings.

GEORGIE JAMES BREAK UP

Posted by Scott Heisel on 09-Aug-08 @ 12:29 PM

Washington, D.C.-based pop duo Georgie James have decided to disband. The band posted the following statement on their website regarding the dissolution:
"After three years, Georgie James is calling it a day. We're proud of the album we made and everything else that we were able to do during our time together. We are both working on our respective solo projects (John's can be found here and Laura's here) and hope to have albums out early next year. Thanks to everyone that helped our band over these past few years. And thanks to those who've listened to the music and come out to the shows. It is greatly appreciated. See you around soon."
The duo released their debut album, Places, last year on Saddle Creek and this year were selected as one of our 100 Bands You Need To Know In 2008. (So, uh, our bad.)
