Story Of The Year announce new record plans

Story Of The Year are getting ready to follow up 2008's Black Swan with another release on Epitaph Records. Guitarist Ryan Phillips released the following statement:

"Right now I am working overtime writing a new SOTY record!!! It's turning out really good. I'm very happy with what's coming out. My brain is in a very interesting stage in my life and it's interesting how that affects what music comes out of me. I'm very delighted to say that I think this record is shaping up to be fucking great."

Saosin video update

Saosin have been busy working on the follow-up to their 2006 self-titled album. They've been hoping to have the new record out by June, but no word on a final release date is out yet. They did have a few minutes to sit down with MySpace and talk about the progress, though. Check out the video below.

Chuck Ragan wraps up solo album

Chuck Ragan has been busy at work in the studio recording the follow-up to 2007's Feast Or Famine. The new album, due to hit stores September 1 on No Idea Records, will be entitled Gold Country. Ragan released the below statement on the progress on his album, which is now in the final touches stage.

"Just before heading overseas I finished up the last of the mixing and mastering of a new record I've recorded at Flying Whale Studios up here where I live in Northern California. Bruce Wheelock who's been the man behind the board engineering this record has done a brilliant job and I've been nothing but pleased to work with him. I've also had the pleasure of having some great friends come in to put their art and instrumented passion down to back me up.

I'm very proud to call this new record Gold Country. Naming a project can be one of the hardest parts of the process. For me it always reveals itself when I just plain stop worrying about it. While overseas we were walking around Melbourne and a title started to make total sense to me. It considers the content and energy of which these songs were written, where they were written, where they were recorded and where everything I love and hold sacred is that I work and shove to get home to."

Evergreen Terrace in the studio

Florida's hardcore favorites Evergreen Terrace are currently in the studio working on some ear candy for you, and they want you tuned in on their progress. Guitarist Josh James had this to say:

"We are almost finished tracking the music for our new record and let me be the first to say that this record is not going to suck! Next week we head down to AudioHammer Studios in Orlando to start laying down vocals with metal mastermind Jason Suecof.

We are currently working on some U.S. and European tour dates so keep your ears/eyes open. If you live on Earth then we might be coming near your town once this record comes, and if you don't live on Earth, then you're an alien and probably eat cats. And PETA freaks out when you eat cats. Trust me, it's OK to eat donuts but not dog nuts; that's hypocrisy."
