Envy On The Coast take action against natural gas complex

Alternative Press - Tim Karan on 5/27/09 @ 2:04 AM - altpress.com

The construction plans for a liquefied natural gas complex on Long Island have affected NY natives, Envy on the Coast. Front man Ryan Hunter has written the following expressing his concern and encouraging action:

I just received word that they are planning on building a "Liquefied Natural Gas Complex" in Long Beach. That's right folks. Long Beach, Long Island. That's just 10 minutes away from my home, and one of 2 places that my younger brother and I love to surf. That's the same Long Beach that all the members of this band frequent to hang on the boardwalk and watch the ocean. You never think this shit will come that close to home, until it knocks down your fucking front door.
We'll be getting involved in any way we can to help put a hault to this project. You can help right now by signing the petition that you'll find here:
http://www.cleanoceanaction.org
Please take a few minutes just to educate yourself and sign the petition. Thank you.

The campaign states that the complexes for importing liquefied natural gas will destroy habitats, prohibit ocean waters for commercial and recreational uses, cause pollution and more.
