Nominations for the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards have been announced, and there are definitely some surprises in the bunch. To be nominated, the music in question had to have been released between October 1, 2008, and August 31, 2009. Some highlights among the nominees, in alphabetical order:

the underoath deluxe edition really deserved this nod. i'm really surprised they nominated them, just like when they nominated norma jeans "o god the aftermath" artwork. not saying they didn't deserve it but surprised they actually paid attention to these bands

I'm surprised the nod for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration to The Lonely Island and T-Pain for "I'm on a Boat" didn't make your list. I was pretty shocked and amazed upon reading that.
