AP Exclusive: Cinematic Sunrise tour diary (part two)

Cinematic Sunrise, the Jeckyl to the Hyde of Chiodos' Craig Owens and Bradley Bell, are currently in the midst of a headlining tour in support of their recently released A Coloring Storybook And Long-Playing Record EP (out now on Equal Vision), and CinSun guitarist/vocalist Bryan Beeler was more than happy to document his experiences for an AltPress.com exclusive tour diary. Read part one here and part two below.
The amazingly awesome adventures of Cinematic Sunrise through the eyes of Bryan Beeler with adjectives by someone who knows how to use "Big Words" - Part II

Leaving Cleveland. Dave somehow thought that a 9 AM bus call would be a good idea since we couldn't even park at School of Rock until 4 PM. I thought it was a bad idea from the get-go since we could've just parked in a Walmart parking lot to kill time, but this makes it that much more fun, right? We were running behind schedule due to our late bus call, eight hour drive and ridiculous amount of traffic. We were all starving at this point but we couldn't stop to grab something to eat because Dave was more concerned about us getting to the show on time instead of our failing health and sad stomachs. Mind you that we've been on the road for eight hours and some of us hadn't eaten since the previous night. Dave promised us pizza would be waiting for us when we got to the show. We finally made it to the lovely town of South Hackensack, New Jersey, and guess what? NO PIZZA. This was a small town with virtually nothing to do, yet it was dear to all of our hearts for its peaceful sublimity and crass natives.

We saw a store called "The Light Bulb Store". They didn't sell pizza, they sold light bulbs. Their motto was "Why pay more?", and they had their own van and warehouse. I ask you, why pay more when you can go to Home Depot? And who has an entire store and warehouse dedicated to light bulb sales? Must be in demand here. We found a shady grocery store to tide us over until we found some real food. All the employees there spoke Spanish and were poking fun at us, our clothes and the fact that we were in a band. They didn't know that I knew Spanish. I personally thought I looked rather nice, and I didn't make fun all of the hair gel that they had in their hair. I don't make fun of people because that's mean.

The show at the School of Rock went well. The crowd was great and everyone was singing along. We packed it up and went to the bus to watch LaBron James fail to win a title AGAIN.

Monday morning brought us to the city of Brotherly Love. For those of you who aren't up to par with the name, that's Philadelphia. Home of the famous Philly Cheese Steak. Vic and I decided to venture off and find us a cheese steak. We didn't know that the venue (World Live Café) was in the middle of the University of Pennsylvania campus until we walked through a crowd of thousands of people outside for their graduation. How awkward, we didn't stick out like sore thumbs.

On our mission to find a cheese steak, we found an arcade. Of course, we had to visit it! You know those games with the claw? Let's just call that the claw machine grabber game. I was able to grab a dragon-like snake stuffed toy because the rock gods love me and are blessing me with happiness from claw machine grabber games. I called my dragon-like snake Dragonsnake. Not to be confused with Dragonforce. I like Dragonsnake a lot, even more than Dragonforce.

After we finished in the arcade, we found a cheese steak vendor. As we were waiting in line, a customer at the counter was fighting with the poor employee. He was pretty adamant about not screwing up his order. At first we thought they knew each other and were just joking, but they weren't. This guy was serious business about having his cheese steak perfect. We all know cheese steaks are serious business. They are also very delicious.

We returned to the bus and the previous night we decided that Mondays are going to be Makers Mark Mondays. These ideas are always great when we start them, but we usually change our mind after two sips. And we all know that two sips are too late. So again, I learned that drinking before the show and during the show are two different things. The show went smooth, the crowd was a little cold at first but started warming up after a few songs. There was even a mosh pit! Is our music mosh pit-able music? I guess so! After the show we learned Red Wings kill the Dallas Stars and advance to the Stanley Cup finals. We headed off to Troy, NY for our next show, but not before stopping at the Equal Vision headquarters in Albany.

Once again, Dave wouldn't let us stop on the way there, even at a truck stop.

You know what would be really nice? A set of basketball arm sleeves. If I don't get a pair soon, I think my arms might fall off during the middle of a show. Dave had someone pick up some hockey tape for him, and I asked if they could pick up a pair of basketball sleeves for me and he told me to "Do it on my own time!" He's sucking the fun out of everything (we still love you Dave). He hasn't had his daily cup of ice cream in two days, so that could be why he's being such a fun sucker. If someone wants to bring me a pair of sleeves to a show, that would be wonderful!

We visited the EVR office and headed off to huge lunch with the entire EVR staff at PF Chang's. Who doesn't love Asian food? Well, our Chinese friend Nicole doesn't like Asian food. How ironic is that? Anyway, they kept bringing us lots of appetizers and I really can't complain about that. Marcus and Craig both ordered drinks that were color coordinated with their shirts. They claimed they didn't do it intentionally, but we all know the truth. The waitress there had a crush on me so I told her I'd put her on the list for the show that night.

The show in Troy was great! I wore t-shirt with one of our manager's phone number on it. I hope there's a lot of pictures of it floating around the internet. Give him a call, his name is John Daley. After the show Dave got his fix of ice cream so he was in a good mood. Sadly, our waitress Loren never showed up. Loren, was it something I said? Did I do something wrong? I though we had a real connection.

New York City! We woke up to some AMAZING news. Our EP, A Coloring Storybook and Long-Playing Record is #195 in the Billboard Top 200 and #8 on the New Artist Chart! Thank you to everybody who bought it, you're the best!

Have I mentioned our bus driver yet? His name is Radar. Yes, it really is. We decided that we don't like his name so we're calling him Laser, Taser, Razor. If you have any other suggestions as to what we should call him, feel free to send us a message on myspace with your ideas! Or you can just come out to the shows and tell us.

Everyone has been great so far and I'm having a blast meeting you all. Everything is perfect, which is excepted when this tour is basically a summer vacation with all of your friends. You know what's missing though? You! So come on out!

I'll post another "amazingly awesome adventures" in a couple days. I have so much more to tell you all! Burglary, bra shopping, a forbidden love? You'll hear all about it soon!

PS: I have about 962 myspace friends, so my quest for one million friends by the end of the tour is coming along nicely. Add me!
