Alkaline Trio to play acoustic sets, early material on tour with Against Me!

Alkaline Trio have begun announcing dates for what is being dubbed "The Occult Roots of Alkaline Trio: Early Songs for Eerie People" tour, featuring special guest Against Me!. The band have also stated that on this upcoming tour, they will be playing both acoustic and electric sets, and will be playing songs spanning their entire catalog.

"We feel that much of our older catalog has been neglected for far too long," says singer/guitarist Matt Skiba. "There are people out there who have been loyal to the band over the years despite the many changes that have taken place. We feel that we owe our loyal following a chance to hear songs that haven't been played in years, and we feel that we owe it to ourselves to revisit those songs that have gotten us where we are today."

The band had a busy 2005, both releasing their new album Crimson on Vagrant Records last April, then reissuing it this past December. The pop-punk trio also spent all fall touring with My Chemical Romance. This upcoming tour will be their first of 2006. Currently confirmed dates are below, with more to be announced soon:
