AP EXCLUSIVE: THE SPILL CANVAS TOUR DIARY (PART FOUR)
Posted by Scott Heisel on 21-Apr-08 @ 12:42 PM
South Dakota-based rockers the Spill Canvas are currently pounding the pavement in support of their major-label debut, No, Really, I'm Fine, out now on Sire, and the band have been kind enough to document the band's road experiences for you, the Alternative Press reader. Check out part one here, part two here, part three here and part four below.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Joe here...It's that time again, the time when I get to check in with you and let you all know what we've been up to. First of all, the Yellowcard tour just came to a close the other night in Phoenix,
Arizona. After the show, everyone hung out for a few hours enjoying a few drinks and and a few cigars as we reminisced about the past 5 weeks.
The YC guys became great friends of ours on this run, as well as our continued friendships with Treaty of Paris and Play Radio Play. We had
a fabulous time on this tour and hope that everyone that came out to the shows did as well.
As I type we are driving towards Denver, Colorado, where we will spend our night off. A few of us are thinking about going to the Denver Nuggets game tonight. They are playing the Memphis Grizzlies tonight which will undoubtedly be a blowout, but that doesn't matter. Nights off are hard to come by, so when we get them we like to do something
different, and we rarely get to go see a game.
Morale is high these days. Our 2 day journey across the western frontier has proved to provide some great scenery. And, the sun isn't quite terrible enough to melt our faces off yet. We'll save that for the summer.
Now, as for what's next for us? After our Ft. Collins show tomorrow, we play a few college shows on our way home where we get to spend a whopping 2 days!!! Then, we make our way out east where we are playing 3 MTVU shows with Wyclef, Flo Rida, The Bravery, and more. After a couple weeks of rest and relaxation, we will embark on another
headlining tour with Steel Train and Ludo joining us. Excitement pours through our veins as we prepare for this adventure.
Other than the aforementioned, our lives are fairly mundane and routine. Living out of a suitcase remains the only lifestyle that we're accustomed to at this point. We are looking forward to the break so we can all enjoy some home cooking and a few rounds of golf here and there.
We love you all dearly and can't wait till our paths cross. Until then...
