FRED MASCHERINO LEAVES TAKING BACK SUNDAYPosted by Scott Heisel on 04-Oct-07 @ 05:40 PM
Guitarist/vocalist Fred Mascherino has decided to leave Taking Back Sunday to focus on The Color Fred, his solo project. The band posted the news on their blog, reading:
"After four great years and two successful gold albums together, Fred has decided to leave Taking Back Sunday to pursue his solo career. We wish him well and we are working on the next Taking Back Sunday album as we speak.Mascherino was not an original member of TBS; he replaced John Nolan, now of Straylight Run, who quit TBS alongside bassist Shaun Cooper in 2003. There is no word on who, if anyone, will fill Mascherino's shoes. UPDATE: MTV.com caught up with Mascherino, who commented, "I felt like during the time we were together, we made some great music together, but it was getting to the point where I felt I had taken the road as long as I possibly could. [...] I hoped to write another record, for sure. But there wasn't a lot of writing going on between the five of us, honestly. We weren't really coming together. I felt like it was just a good time to move on, because I was pretty sure I could never make another record with these four guys." [ |
