The event, to take place Saturday, November 24, at The Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, New York, and being billed as "The Anti-Matter Anthology: A Book Release Concert & Benefit for Callum Robbins" will feature Snapcase (labeled as "a one-time reunion performance"), 108 and Triple Threat. There will also be surprise guests.
A limited edition pre-sale package will be available Sept. 28, allowing the first 55 people to buy their ticket alongside a stamped, numbered, and personalized copy of The Anti-Matter Anthology at a combined reduced price of $29.99. Tickets for the general public will go on sale October 5. Complete details and pre-sale information will be released through the Anti-Matter MySpace page at 2 p.m. EST today.
Hailing from Buffalo, New York, Snapcase were one of the biggest and most influential metal/hardcore bands of the '90s, and a flagship band for the then-nascent Victory Records. The quintet disbanded in January 2005 after over 14 years of service; their final proper studio album was 2002's End Transmission.
The Anti-Matter Anthology, to be released Nov. 6 via Revelation Books, is a collection of Norman Brannon (of Texas Is The Reason)'s short-lived Anti-Matter zine from the mid-'90s, as well as a handful of other interviews he conducted for Alternative Press during the same time period. Among the bands represented in the anthology are Rage Against The Machine, Quicksand, Sick Of It All, Jawbox, Rancid and many more.
Callum Robbins is the infant son of J. Robbins (of Jawbox/Burning Airlines/producing fame), who suffers from a genetic motor neuron disease called Type 1 SMA, or Spinal Muscular Atrophy. This show will be a benefit show to help raise money for Callum's medical bills; you can learn more and find out how to donate here.
In case you're unfamiliar with the band, check out their music video for "Typecast Modulator" below. It's just one of many spicy jams in the group's catalog.
