Straylight Run sign to Universal Republic; new album in June

Confirming weeks of rumors, piano-rockers Straylight Run have officially announced their signing to Universal Republic Records, a division of major label Universal. The former Victory Records act are now labelmates with Hinder, Prince and Jack Johnson, among other groups. The band will release their sophomore album, The Needle The Space, on June 19 through the label.

"We've spent a lot of time writing, recording and producing this album," says frontman John Nolan. "It's been a very big part of our lives for the past year and a half and we are so excited for the record to finally be coming."

The band are previewing material from Space on their current tour with the Hush Sound, Spitalfield and Pablo; that tour plays Knoxville, Tennessee, tonight. Dates:
