South Dakota-based emo-rock act the Spill Canvas have signed to Sire Records. Sire, a division of the Warner Music Group, was originally an independent label until 1976, when they signed a distribution deal with Warner Bros. The label has been the home to many influential artists over the years such as the Ramones, the Smiths and the Cure. Recently, the label was unearthed, and currently houses groups like Against Me!, Armor For Sleep and HIM, among others. The band are currently preparing to enter the studio with Neal Avron (Yellowcard, Fall Out Boy) to record their major-label debut, which should be out in mid-2007.
