what are some of your favorite christian hardcore bands? i believe the breakthrough of christianity in hardcore music is a massive milestone in the development of the music business. some of my favorite christian bands include- 1. sleeping giant 2. the chariot 3. the blood reckoning 4. for today 5. plea for purging (yes, i am a 15-year-old christian girl, and this is my first thread. please provide constructive criticism.)

I can't get into this "genre" because about 99.6% of the bands sound alike, beat their themes to death, point too many fingers or want me to die for being a nonbeliever. The other 0.4% are okay. /gross stereotype The entire marketing decisions leading to the label of "being Christian" distresses me. Jesus would not approve.

I constantly find myself confused whenever the topic of Christian bands come up. Honestly, wouldn't most bands be considered Christian since Christianity is the clearly dominant religion here? I just don't understand the point... unless you're aiming for moral superiority.

I thought it was Anthony who started this thread for a split second. Glad I was wrong. I've been up for days, trying to find a way to write this confession down

This is my house please come on in It's time to cleanse yourself from sin Get thee down upon your knees 'Cos non belief is a disease, Amen Come all ye faithful, heed the bells This trip could save you all from hell Burning Crosses through the night Come and join the holy fight, Amen So You hear your shepherd calling My wrath won't be denied Don't stand there looking sheepish Come and join the flock inside Who says these people are insane It's only brainwash, quite humane A thousand channels take your pick Another mystic lunatic, Amen Think You can challenge me come on I've seen 'em off one by one Old Gallileo's long forgot Though he was right and we were not, Amen Deliver you from evil That never was the plan Those who fall for this one Deserve the lousy hand This twisted truth, this slight of hand Has kept the devil in command Beyond those gates up in the sky Sign up now for apple pie, Amen

Alright, Craig............... .....Show me some examples, bud. That statement is not what 'Christianity' is about. I could see that in Islamic hardcore.......but not Christian.

I completely agree with you, Dante. Pointing fingers & condemning people for having different beliefs is NOT what Christianity is about (or so I hear). I can't imagine that if God were real he would like people acting so hateful, all in his/her name. Unfortunately though, from my own experiences (so maybe it's not like this everywhere), the VAST majority of Christians I have come across have not been the loving, accepting kind of Christians that just want to spread the word and bring people to Christ and so on and so on.

August Burns Red is one of the only self-proclaimed "Christian" bands that I can still listen to since I've scrapped Christianity. They're good musicians and even better dudes at heart. Even if they do have a few lyrics that "point too many fingers." Regardless, a band's personal beliefs don't really mean that much to me. I'd just rather not be preached to when I go to a show to listen to some tunes and have a good time.
I swear...I swear I'll find you I'll keep on searching, searching till the end of time. And if I can't survive without you by my side, then wait for me, wait for me, Wait on the other side... I'll be there.

Dante, you know what happens when you have a topic that gets on your nerves even though you know better than to generalize a gross stereotype based on a few people? Yeah...

this. exactly this, is why i shy away from most christian band shows. don't get me wrong, you look at my last fm, you'll see about 75% christian bands. the only christian bands i've seen that shy away from preaching are emery and anberlin.

It's not really a genre. They're just like all other hardcore bands if genres are based on musicianship. Yeah sure, lyrically, they write about morals, and indirectly, about God. That doesn't mean they're shoving religion down your throat. It's just like writing about cutting your wrists, and writing about love. It's how they feel. And if they feel that strongly about God, then let them. I'm not particularly religious (though most of the bands I listen to are religious), just thought I'd put that out there.

All they do is replace every bitch, baby, or friend with Jesus.

And for a minute it all stops.
But it won't last man.

^ Haha that was the first one I went to as well. As I recall they were telling everyone to go out and vote so we can get that f*cker out of the office. Warped 06 was the next time I saw them and they did a new lecture for every song and that was when I knew.
