Have a band you think people should listen to? Want recommendations on what bands you should hear if you like a certain other band? Post it here.
And who can save you?
Not their gods and not their masters.

I may or may not have posted this in the old thread, but I think they deserve a double mention: Yotokyo Some really talented guys, and by far my favorite unsigned band. But they're not very well known. They've won a couple awards on Garage Band and they have a couple songs free to download on iLike. Come on, people! Free music! and what's more, AWESOME free music! They describe themselves as Experimental / Indie / Pop I suggest downloading the song "Kumashea" off their iLike. It's the first song I heard by them that got me addicted.
I just want to believe!

Only then do I see that we’re destined for failure Cause the shapes that she makes are like pen down to paper and the lines that she draws are like maps to my heart.

^ Hey now! I like that band!
We always did feel the same.
We just saw it from a different point of view, tangled up in blue.

Ceremonial Snips. http://www.myspace.com/ceremonialsnips I guess I would call them a punk band with horns. If anyone wants, I can upload their full length and ep.

I recommend The Riot Before. They're not new. They're not incredibly unknown. I just want everyone to feel their awesomeness.

mkay...so, I hang out with a bunch of people who are all really into making music. One of them, Hezekiah (Hez!!) has a project called If I Ran the Zoo that I think some of you would enjoy immensely. His music bears resemblences to a more toned-down Kay Kay with random bits of chaos mixed in Chase and Hez have worked together to make music before, so he knows more of what Hez's music is about.... So I'm going to let the resident expert describe it to you: So... Hez can create music like no other. His style varies with every new song/release he completes. But to generalize the sound, it is mostly lo-fi indie with dark elements mixed in. His voice is very haunting and he is an amazing lyrcist I'm lucky to work with him Hope you enjoy RIYL Beirut, Animal Collective, Neutral Milk Hotel //Chase Here is his myspace http://www.myspace.com/noisetomakebabiesby Please give it a try, I believe a lot of you will really like it.

An Horse. Female lead vocalist from down undah. http://www.myspace.com/anhorse One of my new favorites, The District. Quite mellow, beware. http://www.myspace.com/thedistrictny I wanted to also ask if anyone had any recommendations similar to Paper Rival whom I've fallen head over shoes for.

^^ rachel (the girl i used to like) is really into an horse. i'll have to check them out. i'll just recommend some local bands... We Were Skeletons--they remind me a lot of The Blood Brothers and they're really cool guys. Circus Circus--awesome original post-hardcore. Movies with Heroes--they sound a lot like Jimmy Eat World i think. just search them on myspace. if anybody just wants links PM me.
you are an empty suit, full of old and washed out memories and a pile of things that are black

Leni, for some reason myspace isn't working well, but what i did hear, I thought was interesting. Hez's voice is kinda similar to John Frusciante. I would be interested in hearing more. if myspace doesn't screw up again, i'll check it out
...slow, how you wanted it to be. I'm over my head, out of my head she sang *I LOVE THE SWEDISH BEAVER!!*

I really like The Kings of Leon, never really gave them a listen before until recently. If you haven't heard of em, you should give them a listen.

I'm horrible with putting music into genres, but if something floats your boat, it shouldn't matter, right? Here's what's been suiting my musical palate as of late: Apse http://www.myspace.com/apse Have A Nice Life http://www.purevolume.com/haveanicelife Bigwig http://www.purevolume.com/bigwig The Mad Capsule Markets http://www.myspace.com/cistimkonfligt Porcupine Tree http://www.porcupinetree.com Sinking Ships http://www.myspace.com/sinkingships Small Brown Bike http://www.myspace.com/smllbrwnbk Sparrow House http://www.myspace.com/sparrowhouse Genghis Tron http://www.myspace.com/genghistron

^I've actually seen Genghis Tron, but they're not exactly my cup of tea. Right now I'm listening to The Demon's Claws - they're buddies with King Khan and from Montreal. Real rock'n'roll. Ummm... I recently discovered Adam Green and Ninjasonik - both are somewhat okay. But mostly I've been listening to Os Mutantes. if you have never heard of this band [is that possible?> - please do if you appreciate 60s music.

My iPod decided I needed to listen to a bunch of sad songs today. I'm not sad, but annoyed that Atom isn't an empath and can't read my mood and play some happy-ass stuff for me.
show me where to look, tell me what will i find
