MINERAL/THE GLORIA RECORD!

Either or. Pretty f*cking please. It's
so hard to understand alot of stuff about them.
Plus they were alot better than Sunny Day Real Estate.

They haven't done SDRE yet, have they?

They really should, it would broaden the horizons of a lot of the "emo" kids who read the magazine. Which is the whole purpose of having it, innit?

I'd be up for a Fugazi or At The Drive-In article.

I would actually enjoy a very large on issue, covering, if possible, the first and second waves (1984 to about '99-ish?).  Not only would that cover early emocore bands like Rites of Spring and Husker Du(hint, hint), but it would also have sections on bands from the early '90s like Sunny Day Real Estate, Mineral, Heroin, Cap'n Jazz etc..  Like the Transplants issue, AP could interview current "emo" bands, and have them talk about how influental these records were.  Anyobody else think this would make an excellent issue?

a few years back ap interviewed matt anderson about the history of
gravity records, so that sort of covers heroin. great article too.

i WAS excited for the rocket from the crypt one, but that issue NEVER came to me. and i contacted the subscription people at ap, and they said they'd send me a new one... but so far no such luck.
but jawbreaker would be a great one... maybe a bosstones one too?

but the bosstones are only 99% done, not 100%.

How about The Hippos?
Save Ferris?
Five Iron Frenzy?
The Arrogant Sons Of B*tches?

Operation Ivy already had one kind of.

I could've sworn there already was one at some point. I definitely remember seeing some article about OpIvy in an issue sometime last year.

They're all super great bands, but none of them really deserve an Oral History article, I think. Plus I think Jeff of ASOB is pretty anti-Alternative Press.

All your favorite bands do coke.

Sorry.

Operation Ivy never had an Oral History. They were part of that Tribute To The 90's sort of thing. But then again, so was Lifetime, The Promise Ring, and Jawbreaker. Plus, those were just little half page interviews with one member of the band.
