Haircut 101 to 110: Which songs just missed the cut?

Alternative Press - Rob Ortenzi on 10/27/09 @ 12:22 PM - altpress.com

In AP 256's "Haircut 100" special, we counted down the top 100 singles the scene has spat out over the past decade with the help of some music-industry experts and members of your favorite bands--but what about those tracks that were just inches shy of making the cut? Below, you'll find the 10 songs that were on the bubble, each falling short of making the official Haircut 100 list by no more than a handful of points. (Regardless of their placing, we still think these tracks are pretty great.)

101. BAYSIDE "Devotion And Desire"
102. COBRA STARSHIP "Good Girls Go Bad"
103. DEFTONES "Digital Bath"
104. PARAMORE "Crush Crush Crush"
105. THE SOUNDS "Living In America"
106. AFI "Silver And Cold"
107. CIRCA SURVIVE "Act Appalled"
108. HOT WATER MUSIC "Remedy"
109. TRANSPLANTS "Diamonds And Guns"
110. ALL TIME LOW "Dear Maria, Count Me In"

Also, check out the Top 10 lists from AP editors and musicians like Pete Wentz, Gabe Saporta and Shane Told here.

the top 100 must be amazing if "devotion and desire" is 101.

BAYSIDE should have made the top 50 atleast!! It was really upsetting when I got the magazine and did not see them on the top 100!Its sad they have more than paid their dues and they still get no credit! There are a lot of bands on the top 100 that should not be on there, super disappointing A.P!

bayside has a ridiculous amount of talent and a ridiculously strong following. the fact that their song got 101 upsets me.

Devotion and Desire should have been in at least the top 50.

Bayside may have a ridiculous amount of talent, and an awesome following, but this article is about the 100 top SINGLES aka HIT. Bayside is a great act, but I wouldn't say they've yet to have a hit.

Writing on the Walls by Underoath I thought was an amazing single. How did that not make it in the 100 or 110. Reinventing your exit was 40

I agree with most of the top 100. Maybe I just missed it, but i really have no idea how Finch's "Letters To You" did not even crack the top 110. Bayside is one of my top 3 favorite bands, but i agree with the person who said they have yet to have a "hit"
