THE STORY SO FAR: Dear Noel started out with a lot fewer members than the six who make up the lineup today. Actually, Dear Noel used to just be singer/guitarist Josh Drake. "I started out doing my thing as a one-man acoustic act playing here and there," says Drake. But after adding fellow guitarist Jason Lewis and playing acoustic pop for about a year, members kept joining and sounds kept being tweaked. "While we were making our EP in spring 2007, we made the drastic change over to the electric world and haven't turned back."
WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: The electronics aren't that drastic, and the occasional dance beat on songs like "Jets To Carolina" actually turns Dear Noel's heartfelt emo-pop into glossy anthems. "Dear Noel are the best friend you've never had," says Drake. "We cheer you up, bring you down, help you out, build your thoughts, go with you to parties and relax with you in bed on lazy Sundays."
