NOW PLAYING: Cause And Effect EP (Myspace.com/postmarktwain)
THE STORY SO FAR: Sending demos to possible producers wasn't going to cut it for Postmark Twain. Before recording their first EP in 2006, they burst into the studio of producers Shep Goodman and Kenny Gioia (Bayside, Head Automatica) during a session with another artist and played their songs in person with an acoustic guitar in hand. "Shep and Kenny were so impressed, they agreed to produce," says drummer Paul Marmo. For last year's Cause And Effect EP, they enlisted Rob Freeman (Hidden In Plain View, Sound The Alarm) in what we assume is a more traditional manner.
WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: Postmark Twain have showcased their upbeat pop chops everywhere from Billboard.com to stages at Six Flags Great Adventure. "Our goal as a band is to make music people can feel good listening to and singing along to," says Marmo. "We want to be a positive force and make a difference in someone's life." [TJK]
