THE STORY SO FAR: As it turns out, slime can be a bonding material. Good With Grenades vocalist Johnny Vanderhoven and guitarist Ryan Speer claim they met on the set of the game show Double Dare back when the Nickelodeon competition ruled the after-school airwaves. "After beating Johnny in a Physical Challenge, I suggested we form a band and use our Double Dare fame as a way into the industry," says Speer. Whether this is entirely true or not, 13 years later, Good With Grenades were born.
WHY YOU SHOULD KNOW 'EM: Combining everything from pop and punk to dance and electronica, the only thing bigger than GWG's hooks is their confidence. "Our songs take you on a futuristic journey that will keep your attention and ultimately make you a better person," says Speer. "We have a unique flavor better than anything on the Dollar Menu except the one-dollar large Coke. That's way better." [TJK]
